NOTE: The Safety Assistance systems of some vehicles will be are designed from the factory to be adapted or disabled when using this product.

WHY? The rear lights will plug into the rear towbar electrical system. Some vehicles, such as the Volkswagen T6.1 and T6 will disable the Side Assist as it is no longer possible to accurately detect vehicles passing behind (as the vehicle believes a trailer is attached (which could be theoretically of any length and mass - box trailer / horse float / boat trailer / caravan etc). Therefore the Volkswagen system disables the Side Assist and in some cases the Adaptive Cruise Control.
